"POLAROID GLITCH".

2018.

12 x 12 in.

Subtractive Carving, Polystyrene Foam

This project was created in about 50 hours for my 3D Design class at SCAD and proved to be one of my most challenging assignments. I measured every dimension of a polaroid camera to create an accurately scaled up carving of it from a cube of foam. After completing that, I cut it into pieces and reassembled it to create a glitch effect. This represents the idea of old technology becoming trendy or cool as time progresses. Both polaroids and glitches, though basically extinct with modern technology, are popular today due to their aesthetic and interesting, vintage appeal.
